John 14:27 New American Standard Bible: 1995 Update (NASB95) 27 Peace I leave with you My peace I give to you not as the world gives do I give to you. Today's Prayer Holy God, give me a deeper appreciation of your abiding presence within me. It is his going away so that the Father can send us the gift of the Holy Spirit, 1 who brings us God's peace.

Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. 14:17 The Spirit of truth : this term is also used at Qumran, where it is a moral force put into a person by God, as opposed to the spirit of perversity. The Paraclete in John is a teacher, a witness to Jesus, and a prosecutor of the world, who represents the continued presence on earth of the Jesus who has returned to the Father. And, if that weren’t enough, he promised to be with us at every step along the way. (John 14:6) Walking in his footsteps, we need not be afraid. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
